I know many people who wake up bright and cheery and some who you would like to stay clear off for a while. This article is especially for all those of you who are not morning people. Mornings are extremely important as they are the foundations on which your entire days are built on. The way you spend your morning is an indication of how the rest of your day is going to be.
Here is a list of questions. Ask yourself these questions every morning and your days will not only become happier, they will also be more prolific over time.
1. What can I do today for my own well-being?
How will you take care of others if you don’t take good care of yourself? This is why taking care of yourself is the best selfish thing you can do. Every day is a new chance for you to change your life. Work hard on making your life all that you have always wanted it to be. Work towards your dreams and always dream big and worry less. Think of how you can best serve yourself today. Take a little step at a time and reach closer to your goals.
2. How can I show my loved ones my love?
You don’t have to be the perfect lover, the perfect parent or the perfect friend. All you need is to be committed lover, parent and friend. Relationships last a lifetime only for those who make the choice and effort to keep at it, fight for it and work at it every day. You don’t need loud extravagant acts of love to prove your love; you just need them to be from your heart. Always see that your deeds match your words. My husband plucks me a flower every morning when he returns from his walk. I try to do something special with my kids every weekend. Your little gestures will go a long way.
3. How can I encourage myself and others today?
We all know that motivation, like baths, don’t last. That is why they are recommended daily. To accomplish anything in life, it is important to dream, plan, act and most importantly, believe. Be a courageous believer, be a motivator and a go-getter who does not give up. Spread this enthusiasm to those around you and you will see the ripples of your motivation making a difference in people’s lives.
4. What do I appreciate about my life right now?
Most of us waste our happiness by overlooking what we have for things that we wish we had. This way, you will never have enough. Every day, appreciate all the goodness that you have and you will find that you have more than enough to smile about. Before you get out of bed every morning, spend a few minutes and count your blessings. Send gratitude for everything that is right in your life: your home, spouse, kids, job, car, family, friends….everything that you only dreamt of but have. When you do this, you will get out of bed very happy and you will be ready to face the day and get more happiness out of it.
5. What do I want to remember about today?
As cliché as it sounds, life is actually very short. Make the ride worthwhile and enjoy the journey. Do something every day that is worth remembering. Try something new, do something adventurous, express your love, live a true life, share your enthusiasm for life, motivate those around you, walk your talk, make your dreams real……do something everyday that is worth remembering. Keep a diary and enter these thoughts into it. When you sit back at the end of every year and read this, you will feel a different sense of fulfillment.
Remember to ask yourself the right question and this will be your right answer. The questions you ask yourself daily will be the ones that will determine your focus on life, and this focus will determine the results.
