  4. Tick: Once the alarm rings, put a tick mark on the paper. Congratulate yourself on spending an entire Pomodoro set on a task.
  5. Break Time: Stretch, play with your dog, update your Facebook status, have a cup of coffee. Spend four to five minutes relaxing.
  6. Take some time off after 4 Pomodoros: Take about 20 to 30 minutes off after you have completed four Pomodoro segments. Your brain needs this break and will be fresher and more efficient after this. Once you have finished the break, start with your next round of Pomodoros.

    Of course I can. I do it quite frequently. Of course, that is when I want to. But you absolutely can block thoughts from entering your mind. I admit it comes with years of developing the ability, but it still can be done (it might also take will… which you can let go of also at… excuse it, your will). Still, not all distractions are bad, are they?

    Then there is that bloody phone… that I really should remove the plug from, more often… That’s another story entirely.

    But yes, trying to rush or push things … or… or.. wait, wait… what was I getting at again ? Bloody distractions! You get the idea: If you worry about too many things or you insist on getting something done that can wait (even if you don’t want it to … want and need is very different) it is at some point going to backfire and just remember that unless you get in to a fatal accident (in which case it is hardly worth worrying about whether you got something done… as obvious as that is I think some would miss it!) … time for you will keep ticking. Make use of that fact. It is helpful once you accept it (and follow through .. which is why reminding yourself is critical – you can indeed forget it).
